Thanks everyone for allowing droz and I to be able to assist you with your GIMP endeavors through this brush conversion project. As you are probably well aware (especially if you read my last journal 
), GIMP has been supporting PS brushes since version 2.4. With every version, GIMP just gets better and better, I have yet to find a PS brush that GIMP doesn't support. They may be out there, but they're few and far between.
At any rate, I won't be posting any more brushes, and I suspect the same can be said for droz (I can't speak for him directly, but I believe he'd probably concur with my opinion. If not, he'll tell you!
) That being said, it's been a LOT of fun being of service to the GIMP community, and I look forward to continuing to assist through scripts and general answering of questions.

IF THE PROJECT-GIMPBC SITE BOTHERS YOU, JUST PASS ON BY....YOUR COMMENTS ARE NOT WELCOME!
Alright, people, listen up! Evidently stupidity is starting to set in throughout the GIMP community and I think it's time to shut the ignorance down before it begins to spread like wildfire.
I've been getting messages frequently over the last several months about the need for brush conversions from PS to GIMP.....after all, GIMP SUPPORTS PS BRUSHES!
No kidding, really?!? You're pulling my leg...you mean I can actually download PS brushes right into GIMP and they work fine?!? YES....I KNOW THAT ALREADY! I DON'T NEED TO BE TOLD NOR INSULTED ABOUT THE EFFORTS DROZ AND I HAVE PUT INTO THE CONVERSIONS!! LET ME REPEAT, I KNOW!
Obviously, the brainiacs that have so pleasantly pointed this out have not been using GIMP very long NOR do they know how to read....or maybe they know how to read, but comprehension isn't a strong point.
So, let me reiterate to those of you out there who have appointed yourself, King (or Queen) of the Insultingly Obvious......
Prior to GIMP 2.4, anytime a GIMP user wanted to work with PS brushes, they had to be converted. But, GIMP can open them up just fine now. WHICH IS WHY WE HAVEN'T POSTED ANY SINCE DECEMBER 2007. Can you understand that? If not, maybe you could take the time to check these items out:

I sincerely apologize to those who don't act this. This is DEFINITELY not directed at everyone. Droz and I greatly appreciate everyone who has ever commented/faved on our efforts and it's been a pleasure assisting the GIMP community. But, I've really had it with those who don't have a clue and aren't afraid to share the cluelessness with me.

Taking a break...

I'll be taking a little break from brush conversions for awhile. Nothing major, but I want to focus on some other areas of my graphics for a bit....most notably, GIMP scripting. I probably won't be on dA much during this time, so even if you stop by my regular dA site: fence-post.deviantart.com, you won't catch me. Even when I do stop by, I won't be taking the time to answer questions.
So, everyone behave yourself while I'm gone (no parties, keep your feet off the furniture, and clean your room!).

Commenting and why I don't do it.....

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to pass along something that has bothered me for some time and hope you'll understand.
If you've ever stopped by my regular dA site: fence-post.deviantart.com/ and sent me note or dropped me a comment, you know first-hand, that I'll reply to you as soon as I can. It may take me a day or two....or even a couple of weeks (been there, done that), but I WILL get back with you.
But, when it comes to Project-GIMPBC, I rarely provide comments.....and that bugs me. I really like to take the time and talk/get to know people, especially those who take the time to drop me a comment, but in a situation like this, it's not possible. There just isn't enough time in the day for me to get back to everyone. That being said, if you do send a comment our way, please don't be upset if you don't hear back from me. I care, I really do, but my wife would kill me if I spent any more time on this place!
I do take brush requests, but PLEASE, send me a NOTE, don't put it in a comment....I'll do my best to help you get the brushes you want, but it may take me some time. But, I will read notes and respond - only for brush requests and special assistance though.
Also, we get lots of comments asking for us to check out your artwork with brushes we've converted. I do try and check out as many as possible, but again, time just doesn't permit me to get to them all and provide you with feedback. Again, it's not that I don't care, I just don't have time.
I hope everyone understands. But, if you've ever felt hurt that we didn't send you a follow-up reply, please accept my apology. If I didn't care, I wouldn't continue with this project! Remember that.

Ok, so I lied....

Well, I thought the brush conversion project was no longer necessary, but I've been reading at various sites that many folks (particularly us Windows users) are having problems getting the new 2.4 to run. So, the only way those with problems are using GIMP is by hanging on to a copy of an older version of GIMP. (I'm using a previous version in addition to the new version, but that's only so I can have GAP! Gotta have my GAP!)
At any rate, for the time being, I'll still be adding brushes as time permits and since I really don't have anything providing inspiration for my artwork, you may be seeing quite a few new sets posted.
So....game on!
