Well, it's hard to believe it, but the days of PS brush conversions is over! It's a pretty sad day, but the conversions are no longer necessary with the new GIMP 2.4 version. You read that correct, the newest version of GIMP appears to support ALL of Photoshop brushes....even the newer ones. Every brush that I've personally tested works fabulously! That's great news on one hand, but kinda sad on the other.
So, what does this mean? Well, unless we start coming across brushes that don't work, the Project-GimpBC, is no longer necessary.
Will we be shutting down this site? No. There's no intent to remove the brushes. Droz and I spoke about this the other night and we think that there are some great brush sets here and rather than having to scour the web or deviantart to find the original PS versions, these will still be very useful. Plus, it doesn't really cost us anything to have this site up, so keeping them here is fine.
Will we ever convert any more brushes? Well, as I said it's not necessary anymore; HOWEVER, if you find any that don't work in 2.4 OR you plan on hanging on to your current version of GIMP rather than upgrading, you can always put in a request. All requests should be handled through sending us Notes. I can't speak for droz on this, but I hardly ever read the comments here. Not because I'm mean or don't care, I just don't have the time.
Keep in mind, though, that brush conversions are no longer a big priority for me and it may be awhile before I can any sets converted. Sorry.
This won't be the final journal entry as droz and I plan on giving this project the "eulogy" it deserves. And, I'm sure we'll want our friends' involvement in putting together a special R.I.P. So, keep your eyes open and we'll see what our crafty little minds can come up with.
Thanks to everyone for helping this be a special place! Feel free to add your comments to this journal....I would like to hear your thoughts!
Cheers and God Bless!

Thanks for the ride!
Thanks everyone for allowing droz and I to be able to assist you with your GIMP endeavors through this brush conversion project. As you are probably well aware (especially if you read my last journal ;)), GIMP has been supporting PS brushes since version 2.4. With every version, GIMP just gets better and better, I have yet to find a PS brush that GIMP doesn't support. They may be out there, but they're few and far between.
At any rate, I won't be posting any more brushes, and I suspect the same can be said for droz (I can't speak for him directly, but I believe he'd probably concur with my opinion. If not, he'll tell you! :D) That being
The stupidity is amazing....
IF THE PROJECT-GIMPBC SITE BOTHERS YOU, JUST PASS ON BY....YOUR COMMENTS ARE NOT WELCOME!
Alright, people, listen up! Evidently stupidity is starting to set in throughout the GIMP community and I think it's time to shut the ignorance down before it begins to spread like wildfire.
I've been getting messages frequently over the last several months about the need for brush conversions from PS to GIMP.....after all, GIMP SUPPORTS PS BRUSHES!
No kidding, really?!? You're pulling my leg...you mean I can actually download PS brushes right into GIMP and they work fine?!? YES....I KNOW THAT ALREADY! I DON'T NEED TO BE TOLD NOR INSULTED ABOUT TH
Taking a break...
I'll be taking a little break from brush conversions for awhile. Nothing major, but I want to focus on some other areas of my graphics for a bit....most notably, GIMP scripting. I probably won't be on dA much during this time, so even if you stop by my regular dA site: fence-post.deviantart.com, you won't catch me. Even when I do stop by, I won't be taking the time to answer questions.
So, everyone behave yourself while I'm gone (no parties, keep your feet off the furniture, and clean your room! :D).
See you when I return.

Commenting and why I don't do it.....
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to pass along something that has bothered me for some time and hope you'll understand.
If you've ever stopped by my regular dA site: http://fence-post.deviantart.com/ and sent me note or dropped me a comment, you know first-hand, that I'll reply to you as soon as I can. It may take me a day or two....or even a couple of weeks (been there, done that), but I WILL get back with you.
But, when it comes to Project-GIMPBC, I rarely provide comments.....and that bugs me. I really like to take the time and talk/get to know people, especially those who take the time to drop me a comment, but in a situation like this, i
