No more brushes!

Well, it's hard to believe it, but the days of PS brush conversions is over!  It's a pretty sad day, but the conversions are no longer necessary with the new GIMP 2.4 version.  You read that correct, the newest version of GIMP appears to support ALL of Photoshop brushes....even the newer ones.  Every brush that I've personally tested works fabulously!  That's great news on one hand, but kinda sad on the other.

So, what does this mean?  Well, unless we start coming across brushes that don't work, the Project-GimpBC, is no longer necessary.

Will we be shutting down this site?  No. There's no intent to remove the brushes.  Droz and I spoke about this the other night and we think that there are some great brush sets here and rather than having to scour the web or deviantart to find the original PS versions, these will still be very useful.  Plus, it doesn't really cost us anything to have this site up, so keeping them here is fine.

Will we ever convert any more brushes?  Well, as I said it's not necessary anymore; HOWEVER, if you find any that don't work in 2.4 OR you plan on hanging on to your current version of GIMP rather than upgrading, you can always put in a request. All requests should be handled through sending us Notes. I can't speak for droz on this, but I hardly ever read the comments here.  Not because I'm mean or don't care, I just don't have the time.

Keep in mind, though, that brush conversions are no longer a big priority for me and it may be awhile before I can any sets converted. Sorry.

This won't be the final journal entry as droz and I plan on giving this project the "eulogy" it deserves.  And, I'm sure we'll want our friends' involvement in putting together a special R.I.P.  So, keep your eyes open and we'll see what our crafty little minds can come up with.

Thanks to everyone for helping this be a special place!  Feel free to add your comments to this journal....I would like to hear your thoughts! :D

Cheers and God Bless!
